Okay, guys. I know it seems like I’ve abandoned the blog and left Roban to keep it afloat, but I promise I’ve just been unbelievably busy for the last couple of months! So, I thought now would be a great time to catch everyone up on what we’ve been up to.
First things first – our loveable little Piper girl. She is… wait for it… TEN months old now! Someone please recommend some growth stunting tricks because I am over this whole growing up thing. Baby girl is (finally) crawling at lightening speed and beginning to show her sassy side.
I think my daughter may be growing up to believe she is a dog. She constantly pants, paws at the back door, and hauls ass for the dog food the second I put it down. Even better? She literally growls when I try to take things away from her that she’s not supposed to have. Pipe down, Cujo!
It’s a wonderful thing to have patient dogs to help raise our little pup. Woof!
My life now consists of hiding every cord and wire that I previously never thought twice about, big girl car seats, table food (mac & cheese, please!), patty cake, and learning how to say “no” to my sweet little angel baby.
Every day is an adventure with this little mover and shaker. It truly is a joy to watch her learn and discover new things. Even if the new thing is that three-month-old dust bunny that she dug out from under the recliner. Lawd.
Now, onto the BIG NEWS! Blake and I can now officially announce that we are buying a HOUSE! It’s been a long time coming and quite the stressful process, but surprisingly we found a home that we BOTH love within days of looking.
We’ve simply outgrown our current home and we decided it was time to move to a larger home with a big yard in a more kid-friendly neighborhood. Neither of us are big fans of cookie-cutter style homes. We didn’t want our neighbors to be on top of us. We wanted something unique, yet modern. We stumbled across this beautiful brick home built in 1946 (wowza, I know!) that has been completely remodeled on the inside. It has all the charm and antiquity of an older home, but all of the upgrades and conveniences of a new home. It’s simply perfect for us. I’ll stop clambering on and let you see for yourself!
Laaaaa! Those floors are to die for, right?
Can we talk about the fact that I will now have TWO fireplaces? TWO. Guess who will be going apeshit at Christmas time? Just guess.
I have big plans for this kitchen. White cabinets, a wooden bar, and lots of cheerfulness!
Oh, and there’s a pool. Summer 2017, it’s on y’all.
Can’t you just picture Piper frolicking through the yard with her puppy friends? Sigh.
Blake and I are so incredibly excited about the potential this house holds. It’s a bit of a fixer-upper, but we’re willing to put in the work to make it something special. My brain is swarming with ideas constantly. I’m thinking farmhouse chic with lots of bright whites and grey with pops of color! Oh, the possibilities!
I’m learning to let go of the stress over mortgages, crazy work schedules, and teething babies. Instead I’m dreaming of little feet pattering down the hall, twinkling lights on a massive Christmas tree, squealing and laughter coming from the backyard, and many bottles of beer being shared on the back porch on muggy summer nights.
I can’t wait to call this house a home. xo.
