Ahh… early springtime in Pensacola, Florida- otherwise known as the fleeting few weeks between “brrr, I may need a light sweater today!” and “mother of God, please kill me before this heat does.”
With weather this good, you get your butt out of your Netflix-binge-winter-coma and get out on the town like a functioning member of society.
Our first stop on our downtown Pensacola rendezvous was Palafox Market. Local artists, bakers, farmers, and businesses come together to tempt you with their finest selections.
You better believe that us girls hightailed it straight to the sweet treats. Justine from Blue Jay’s Bakery caught our attention with a sample of her scrumptious vanilla bean cupcakes. No girl can resist a sample!
We had Justine and this friendly bearded fellow (we think he’s her husband?) box up some goodies for us to bring home to
devour in one sitting share with our families.
And, if you live under a rock, you may not know that East Hill Honey sells some of the best local Pensacola honey you can get your hands on.
[insert funny honey pun here]
After the market we were on the hunt for some lunch. Lunch is our favorite.
Hub Stacey’s has been a Pensacola staple for years. The menu offers typical pub fare, however we recommend this sexy stack of a sandwich called The Hub Club (feeds two if you’re a wimp).
It doesn’t hurt that this sight for sore eyes sits across the street.
If you’re like us, by the time three o’clock on a Saturday rolls around you either need a pillow and a blanket or a strong cup of joe.
We drowsily wandered into this dreamy café called Fosko Coffee Barre. The Honey Latte was not only rich and absolutely delicious, but it put quite the pep in our steps. We like our coffee how we like our men, tan and sweet.
Fully caffeinated, we headed home to share our spoils. After an afternoon like this, we may never go back to Netflix again. Kidding, we’re three episodes deep into Making A Murderer.
